• If the water is not good to drink then it will be clearly written, “Aqua non-potabile.”
• Save money by filling up a water bottle.
• Think about it: if you buy 2 bottles a day at 2 Euro then by simply filling up your water bottle you will save 12 Euro in 3 days. Not that much, but it adds up when on a budget. 12 Euro is a ticket into the Sistine Chapel or 2 pints.
• If you order mineral water in a restaurant or bar and prefer non-fizzy /gas/carbonated (fizzante) water then order aqua liscia (leesha), which means smooth.
• It is perfectly acceptable to order tap water in a restaurant. You may get a funny look when you do, but ordering “aqua da rubinetto” will get you tap water and save on the bill.
